Radiant Demonstrates New Testing Solutions for Automotive Lighting & Displays at SID Vehicle Displays Detroit

REDMOND, Wash. – September 15, 2016 — Radiant Vision Systems demonstrated solutions for the automotive industry at SID (Society for Information Display) Vehicle Displays Detroit, 23rd Annual Symposium and Expo. The event, which took place September 27-28, 2016 in Livonia, Mich., brings together industry experts to share their knowledge on the latest advances in vehicle display science, engineering, and emerging applications. Radiant, a corporate sponsor of the event, will participate in both the exhibition and technical program, presenting developments in testing methods for illuminated instrument clusters and in-car displays.

Radiant Vision Systems presented a technical session entitled “Advances in Methods for Automated Testing of Instrument Clusters,” detailing how high-resolution imaging colorimeters can be used to efficiently measure luminance and chromaticity within regions of interest such as illuminated controls, tell-tales, and indicators. “Our solutions are especially timely this year”, noted Bo Magluyan, Product Manager for Radiant Vision Systems, “as new LED, display, and touch technologies are driving the need for sophisticated visual inspection. In addition, we have introduced new capabilities to our product portfolio that are particularly beneficial in automotive testing.”

Radiant Vision Systems demonstrated a live instrument cluster inspection in the exhibition hall, as well as a uniformity test for flat panel displays incorporating Radiant’s new conoscopic lens. Used with an imaging colorimeter or photometer, the conoscopic lens enables precise luminance measurements from multiple viewing angles.
