Radiant adds the Y2, 2MP Model to its ProMetric® Y Family of Imaging Photometers
REDMOND, Washington January 12, 2015 - Radiant Vision Systems, a leading provider of light and color test and measurement systems, announces the release of the ProMetric Y2 - the newest member of its ProMetric Y family of imaging photometers. Optimized for use in high volume production environments, ProMetric Y works with Radiant’s TrueTest™ analysis software to deliver a complete factory test solution for measuring brightness, gauging uniformity, and detecting defects in flat panel displays, illuminated keyboards, instrument panels, and other products. The 2MP ProMetric Y2 complements the higher resolution Y16 and Y29 models, delivering the speed and performance of ProMetric Y to applications that do not benefit from higher resolutions.
“We’ve identified several applications where the Y2 is a great fit,” said Doug Kreysar, Chief Solutions Officer for Radiant Vision Systems, “such as testing luminance and uniformity in displays, measuring LED sources and luminaires, and many others. It is an ideal solution for customers looking to balance speed, performance, and cost.”
Introduced in June 2014, ProMetric Y is built around a cooled interline image sensor and incorporates an electronic shutter for fast image capture. The photometer is further optimized for fast measurements to achieve shorter cycle times. With its compact housing, it occupies less space on the production line and represents a cost-effective solution for applications where color operation is not required. All models incorporate “Smart Technology” for easy set up and use, and feature a 12-bit dynamic range for high performance measurement.
The ProMetric Y family comes standard with Radiant’s ProMetric image analysis software; it can be paired with the TrueTest Automated Visual Inspection system to provide a complete, turnkey solution or the application-specific PM-KB software for automated visual inspection of illuminated keyboards.
