Radiant Presents a Method for Anti-Glare Display Evaluation Based on Human Perception at electronic displays Conference 2018

REDMOND, Wash. – February 20, 2018 — Radiant Vision Systems, a leading provider of visual test and inspection solutions for lighting and displays, announces that it will present at the electronic displays Conference (edC) 2018 at NürnbergMesse in Nuremburg, Germany. International Senior Business Advisor for Radiant’s Automotive team, Matt Scholz, will present “Standard System Specifications for Repeatable Sparkle Measurement in AG Displays.” This talk is part of Session 2 of the conference on Display Measurement, taking place Wednesday, February 28 from 1:55-2:15 PM.

As displays are used in more variable lighting environments, anti-glare (AG) layers have become a critical component for consistent visibility of projected information. Limited repeatability from systems and processes used to measure AG properties (sparkle, haze, glare/diffusion)—and their effects on the perceived quality of displays—has impeded the development of quality control methods for AG displays. At the edC, Radiant will present a standard method for sparkle measurement that ensures repeatability regardless of time or location of testing, using system parameters that yield data that matches human perception of display quality. This method is based on customer studies, as well as lab testing at Radiant’s facilities in USA and Japan, to enable businesses to set tolerances for acceptable levels of sparkle as measured from suppliers to OEMs.
